Chicagoan's have been asking themselves the question "why are there so many youth killings in the city?" The answer lays before their eyes. Just look at the dilapidated state of the poor neighborhoods that the majority of the victims come from. These war zones clearly have a depressing effect on people, lessening the youth’s chances to escape the entrapment's it has set. The images that I've captured to share with you convey how hard it is to escape the PTSD state of mind. One that is developed through simply living with daily images of one’s ignored and forgotten communities.
